Flatrock
Flatrock offers a wealth of photographic opportunities. The lovely bay at Flatrock is a great place for panoramas and during iceberg season (June-August), the potential exists to capture icebergs coming into the bay.
The Beamer at Flatrock is a favorite destination for local rock climbers and photographers alike. After a moderately easy hike, you will be treated to views of both the ocean and dramatic flat cliff faces. A word of warning however. Recently, the terrain in this area has become very unstable. The potential exists for loose rock underfoot as well as large rocks falling from the cliff face. Any visits to The Beamer should be undertaken with caution.
Across the Bay, you will find a small waterfall as well as a picnic area and swimming hole. This location also offers opportunities for photographing local rock climbers as they test their skill on the rock faces.
While in the town of Flatrock, you can also take a few minutes to check out the religious shrine Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto.
