American Wigeon
Along with the Eurasian, we do have the American version as well. Found this one hanging about in brackish water (note kelp in foreground) with some fairly tame mallards, blacks and "meat" ducks near the "Kyle", River Head, Harbour Grace.
Getting back to Sibley’s – they claim you will occasionaly encounter hybrids between the Eurasion and American Wigeon. Hmmm….like searching for the grail!
