Camera 35 St. John’s 2026 annual outing will take place in Trinity and the surrounding area from Friday, June 19, 2026, to Monday, June 22, 2026.

Friday, June 19
Arrival Dinner
Location: Dock Marina, 1 Dock Lane, Trinity
Time: 5:00 PM
We will meet for an arrival dinner at Dock Marina no later than 5:00 PM.
Members must call ahead and ask to be added to the Camera 35 group. Otherwise, Dock Marina will not take your reservation, and seating is not guaranteed.

Zodiac Boat Tour

A zodiac boat tour with Sea of Whales is scheduled for Friday evening. Arive thirty minutes before departure.

Members are asked to bring their own condiments, sides, drinks, and any other extras.
If lobster is not your thing, you are welcome to bring another main dish and still join the group.

Sunrise Outing: Skirwink Trail

The Skerwink Trail trailhead is located on Rocky Hill Road in Trinity East / Port Rexton, approximately a 10-minute drive from Trinity.
Parking is available near the marked trailhead on Rocky Hill Road. The trail begins near the parking area and follows a 5.3 km coastal loop with views of sea stacks, cliffs, Trinity Harbour, Port Rexton, and surrounding coastline.
Members should allow extra time for parking, gathering, and preparing gear before the hike.

A star-gazing outing will be scheduled for the best available astro evening, based on weather and sky conditions.
Outing: Puffins in Elliston

The Elliston Puffin Viewing Site is located on Maberly Road in Elliston, approximately 45–50 minutes from Trinity.
Parking is available near the viewing site, with a short walk to the coastal viewing area. This location provides one of the closest land-based views of puffins in North America, with opportunities for photographing nesting puffins, seabirds, coastal scenery, and environmental portraits.
Members should bring longer lenses where available, allow time to walk from the parking area, and remain behind safe viewing areas near the cliffs.
Outing: Foxes in Elliston

Elliston and the surrounding coastal roads may provide opportunities for photographing foxes and other wildlife. The GPS point above may be used as a general rendezvous point near the Elliston Puffin Viewing Site.
Members should photograph wildlife from a respectful distance and avoid feeding, baiting, approaching, or disturbing animals. Longer lenses are recommended. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
Outing: Cable John Cove / Spillars Cove Sea Stacks

Cable John Cove and the Spillars Cove area offer dramatic coastal scenery, including sea stacks, cliffs, coves, and open ocean views. The GPS point above identifies a trailhead area for accessing the Spillars Cove / Cable John Cove coastal walking route.
Outing: Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and Dungeon Provincial Park

Cape Bonavista Lighthouse is located at the end of Cape Shore Road in Bonavista and offers opportunities for photographing the lighthouse, coastline, seabirds, ocean views, and historic site details.
This outing may also include a visit to Dungeon Provincial Park, located within minutes of Bonavista. The Dungeon features a collapsed sea cave, coastal pastureland, cliffs, and dramatic shoreline views.

The Random Passage site is located near New Bonaventure and was originally constructed as the film set for the television mini-series Random Passage. The site recreates an early 1800s Newfoundland outport setting and offers opportunities for photographing historic-style buildings, coastal scenery, textures, details, and environmental storytelling.
Members should park at or near the Random Passage Schoolhouse parking area and follow site directions for access to the film set.
Members should allow time for walking, site access, and any admission or operating-hour requirements that may apply.
