Encouraging Respect in Camera 35
Camera 35 is a volunteer group of like-minded people sharing a passion for photography. Our group thrives on respect, learning, and shared interest. Everyone is expected to take responsibility for their actions, avoid conflict where possible, and seek amicable resolutions. To keep our community welcoming and enjoyable, we encourage everyone to keep a few simple things in mind:
Respect and Inclusion
Treat fellow members, special guests, hosts, models, and collaborators with courtesy.
Value the diversity of backgrounds, skills, and opinions.
Avoid behaviour that could make others feel excluded.
At Meetings and Events
Listen and give space for everyone to contribute.
Keep discussions constructive and on-topic.
Offer critique only when asked, and do so kindly.
Avoid comparing or competing over gear—focus on the images and experiences.
Recognize that everyone belongs; there are no “real” or “fake” photographers here.
Handle disagreements with humility; let’s keep egos in check and avoid defensiveness.
Responsibility and Integrity
Support group decisions once made.
Be fair and honest in financial and organizational matters.
Represent the group positively in public and online.
